Wasted Time
There is no such thing as wasted time!
This story I live is all mine.
Misbegotten stumbling days
Blaze the trails of innovative ways.
Often time spent out of focus
Uncovers the ingredients of hocus pocus!
Swinging free without a net -
On my imagination I’ll place that bet.
There are so many ways to while time,
Or even to idle with an active mind -
To show up on time with a full Windsor knot
And work like a dog while filling a spot,
A cog in the wheel, ungreased and unseen -
Or lauded with praise though not living your dream.
It may seem like a waste to the untrained eye,
But life is cumulative by and by.
It’s not a waste if you use it, and that’s just dandy.
You cannot predict how experience may come in handy.
Trust in yourself though you may roam astray,
As long as you keep going you will find your way.
The pain and the heartache, the tumult and toil,
Fertilize the blossoms that grow up from the soil.
Failure is part of the process, rhythm not rhyme,
There is no such thing as wasted time.
Consider this reflectively;
There is only time used effectively
Or not so much so.
But time is an arrow,
So you don’t always know,
How a dawdle today may help tomorrow to flow.
Keep your mind open and learn as you go,
For there is no telling what you may come to show.
This life is yours to do as you please.
Don’t waste away down on your knees.
Fleeting, finite, and precious as wine,
There is no such thing as wasted time.
Some grapes are fermented and some die on the vine -
Steer into joy or resign to pine.
Every moment is yours, and you choose your rhyme.
There is no such thing as wasted time.
